Graphic Designer based in Dallas, Texas
I've always been an artist. Finding joy in painting with my grandfather is one of my favorite early memories. Approaching college, I knew that I wanted to pursue an education in fine arts. I chose graphic design without really knowing all that it encompassed.
Beginning my journey as a Communication Design major at the University of North Texas, I found it was a little bit different than the art I grew up loving, but I embraced the challenge. Drawing and painting were skills familiar to me. I had not heard the word "typography" prior to school.
Now, I find the same joy and wonder in design, and using these new tools to paint a picture of identity. Currently, I study type design. I had the amazing opportunity to complete the Type@Cooper program, and Iām always looking for opportunities to apply these skills to grow as a designer. I also enjoy playing with illustration and it remains one of my strongest skills.
The first few years were difficult, but I've developed a love for this craft and look forward to the challenge that awaits.
